EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, STRESS MEASUREMENT NETWORK
Alexandra D. Crosswell, PhD is a Postdoctoral Scholar at the UCSF Department of Psychiatry Center for Health and Community. She received her PhD from UCLA in 2014 working with Dr. Julie Bower. Alexandra studies the influence of stress across the lifespan on health outcomes in adulthood such as self-reported health, acute stress reactivity, and inflammation. Much of her work has focused on understanding these relationships in highly stressed breast cancer survivors. She is also interested in understanding how to intervene in the stress-health relationships and has worked on two RCTs examining the impact of mindfulness mediation and Iyengar yoga. Currently, she is working on understanding unconscious processes related to chronic stress.
