WHAT'S GETTING UNDERNEATH YOUR SKIN?

This year's Sugar, Stress, Environment & Weight Symposium explores how our social, psychological and physical environments create metabolic disease.

THE EXPOSOME

Beginning before birth, we are exposed to toxics from our environment, diet, and social experiences. These silent exposure seep under the skin and create disease, obesity and affect our healthspan.

Join leading researchers from across the University of California to discuss how chemical exposures, air and water pollution, neighborhood quality, stress, processed food production/consumption and health policy shape our future.

What is the exposome ? The exposome can be defined as the measure of all the exposures of an individual in a lifetime and how those exposures relate to health. An individual's exposure begins before birth and includes insults from environmental and occupational sources.
